VI.  Essay

    Please compile an essay and attach it in an email to admissions@ycmes.org or paste the text in box on the following topic:

Choose a topic of your interest on the contemporary Middle East, such as politics, religion, gender, anthropology, modern history, etc., and compile 1500-2000 word essay.  While examining the issue, comment on your previous academic study of the Middle East and consider your future academic plans to become an informed, college graduate in the field of Middle Eastern studies.  With this in mind, you may want to include previous class or fieldwork, personal experience, and how you see the academic program at the YCMES fitting into your future goals.
