Cross-Cultural Programs

Group Study Visits

Through the Group Study Visits Program, YCMES sponsors university teachers and students and various individuals from both the public and private sectors for visits to the Republic of Yemen. All groups are assisted with travel arrangements (including in-country transportation), scheduling of appointments with various individuals from the Yemeni government, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions, and are provided accommodation in YCMES’ guest housing located near the main building. Through special arrangements with Yemenia Airways, low-cost airline tickets for all group study visits can be arranged. During visits to Yemen, groups will be provided with English-speaking tour guides to assist all groups with their in-country tours of cultural and historical visits.

The YCMES works closely with the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations to host the Malone Fellows Program in Yemen.

Congressional Staffer Visits

YCMES, with the assistance of the Yemeni embassy and government and the National Council on U.S. Arab Relations, has assisted with all scheduling and arrangements for U.S. Congressmen and U.S. Congressional staff traveling to Yemen. It is YCMES’ belief that better relations can be promoted between the U.S. and the people of Yemen through these visits.
